Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 p.m. Mildred Wheadon (Sellars) of Western Bay, age 80 years. Predeceased by parents: Jabez and Florence Sellars; brothers: Edward (Maggie), Joseph, and Kenneth (Hilda) Sellars; sister: Jean Budgell. Leaving to mourn, husband of 63 years: Boyd; four children: Norman (Bev), Valerie, Barbara, and Lester (Karen); six grandchildren: Norman Jr. (Heidi), Nicole (Matt), Ashley, Alex (Tara), Noah, and Zachary; nine great-grandchildren: Olivia, Benjamin, Isabella, Evan, Lilly, Charotte, Tyson, Jaxson, and Aria; sister: Florence Button; sister-in-law: Lorna Sellars; brother-in-law: Bert Delaney; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Mom will be forever lovingly remembered for her strong love and devotion to her family. She cherished each and every one of us, and was “the rock” of our family. Her family was everything to her, and she made sure on a daily basis that everyone was okay. Mom’s strong belief in her faith and church was unsurmountable, and enabled her to carry out God’s work. She was always there whenever needed to help anyone, and she has helped a countless number of people over the years. She touched the lives of so many, and was a true example of one of God’s most devoted servants. She carried out God’s work, always with a smile and a hug, and she will surely be missed by those she touched. Her genuine care and concern for others, and her heart of gold will never be forgotten. Mom loved so many things in life, especially the simple things such as picking a few berries to make muffins or jams. She was an absolutely fabulous cook, and you would never leave “Nan’s house” hungry. Mom- Nan touched us all in the most loving and remarkable way. Her love for each and every one of us was so strong and pure. She was truly our angel here on earth. We were all so blessed to have her as our wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We will miss her terribly, more than words can ever say. We will cherish our memories, the advice she had given us, and we will all have the privilege of knowing that we have the most loving, remarkable angel watching over us. “Mom, you are too well loved to ever be forgotten.” Thank you to Dr. O’Keefe of the E.R Department, and a special thank you to the 6th floor staff, Dr. Dawn Howse and Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Griffin of Carbonear General Hospital for their care and compassion. Thank you to the North Shore Ambulance Service. A heartfelt thanks to all the support our family have received from the community.
