Obituary of Dexter H. Whalen

March 2, 1950 - October 23, 2015 Passed suddenly away at his residence on Friday, October 23, 2015, Dexter H. Whalen of Western Bay, age 65 years. Predeceased by wife: Phyllis; parents: Douglas and Carrie; brother: Gerald (Shirley); parents-in-law: Ralph and Lily Sellars; brothers-in-law: Melvin Sellars, Don Oliver and Bruce Penney. Leaving to mourn, three sons: Scott (Heather), St. John’s, Jeff (Christine), Western Bay and Chad (Heidi), Mount Pearl; eight grandchildren: Kayla, Sara, Sidney, Sam, C.J. Hilary, Laura and Mackenzie; two brothers: Wayne (Violet), Western Bay and Jeff (Grace), Pasadena; two sisters: Dona Whalen, Dartmouth, NS and Janice Penney, Musgravetown; brothers-in-law: Kevin (Judy) Sellars, Brampton, ON, Bryce (Loretta) Sellars, Barrie, ON and Wayne (Barb) Sellars, Salmon Cove; sisters-in-law: Marie Oliver, Pearl (Boyd) Whalen and Norma (Gary) Slade, all of Western Bay, Vera (Daryl) Way, Brampton, ON and Marie Sellars, Goulds; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, October 26 at 2:00 p.m. from McDowell United Church, Western Bay. Cremation to follow. A private family inurnment to be held at the United Cemetery, Western Bay North. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place, P.O.
