Passed peacefully away at his residence on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Joel Matthews of Carbonear, age 69 years. Predeceased by parents, and sister: Helen. Leaving to mourn, wife: Joy; one brother: Jon Matthews, Vancouver, BC; two sisters: Nancy (Haddie) Coates, Gimli, MB and Joan McAdam (Jack Reimer), Winnipeg, MB; father-in-law: Gerald (Pearl) Oxford, Springdale; mother-in-law: Beatrice Pynn, Springdale; two brothers-in-law: Dion (Erinn) Oxford, Toronto, ON and Gerry (Krista) Oxford, Bonnyville, AB; sister-in-law: June (Dwight) Brown, Corner Brook; also a large number of other relatives and friends thoughout the country. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, October 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Carbonear.
