Obituary of Wayne Penney

PENNEY, Wayne – (August 13, 1953 – March 14, 2015) Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, St. John’s on Saturday, March 14, 2015, Wayne Penney of Harbour Grace, age 61 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Jessie; step-father: Maxwell Babb, brother: Edward and father-in-law: Victor Vincent. Leaving to mourn, wife: Glenys; two sons: Vincent (Jacqueline) and Michael (Leanne); one daughter: Crystal; three grandchildren: Gavin, Olivia and Reid; three sisters: Myrtle (Philip) Sharpe, Eileen (Patrick) Nugent and Mary (Wally) Wrice; two step-brothers: Norman Babb and Edward ‘Ned’ Babb; one step-sister: Alice Sharpe; mother-in-law: Mae Vincent; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Calvin (Betty) Vincent, Sylvia (Perry) Howlett, Ann (Frank) Byrne, Beatrice (Roland) Menchenton, Hughie (Margaret) Vincent and Evelyn (David) Sainsbury; special caregivers: Philomena Parsons and Sharon Clarke; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Gerard Glavine for his selfless acts of kindness and also to Rev. Linda Pike for her spiritual care. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace with visitation hours on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. from Coughlan United Church, Harbour Grace. At Wayne’s request, cremation will follow. Inurnment in the United Church Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to Coughlan United Church P.O.
