Obituary of John 'Jack' Callahan

CALLAHAN, John 'Jack' (November 21, 1928-February 25, 2015)- Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, St. John's on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, John 'Jack' Callahan of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 86 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment and a proud veteran of the Korean War. Predeceased by his parents: John and Mary Callahan; two infant siblings: Nellie and Mike; five brothers: Leo, Pat, Bill, Frank and Ned; three sisters: Marie Byrne, Angela Roberts and Veronica Callahan. Leaving to mourn, two sisters: Kathleen Coombs and Gertrude Connolly, both of Harbour Grace; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. “We know you are in the arms of the angels and finally united with your loved ones.
